People Adopting Abandoned Pets Sought by Minnesota Economic Leader

People interested in adopting abandoned pets and who do not find Minnesota a place that is too far from where they are now might be interested to know that there is a puppy looking for a permanent home in Albert Lea. In summary, this is the message that Dan Dorman is trying to send to people who might be interested.

As the number of foreclosed property increases, the number of abandoned pets also rises. In most U.S. areas, abandoned cats and dogs have become a problem and even animals in shelters are not assured of a good life as most shelters are overcrowded and facility managers are often forced to turn pets away or put them to sleep to solve the overcrowding problem.

Dorman is one of those who are very much aware of the problem of homeless pets whose former owners were unable to save their homes from foreclosures. A month ago, the Albert Lea Economic Development Agency Director had to take in two puppies that were left near his home by a man reportedly driving an SUV.

According to Dorman, the smaller of the two puppies has already been taken by people adopting abandoned pets, but they are still seeking a permanent home for the other puppy. Dorman has revealed that the news about the two dogs a month ago has garnered a lot of attention and several people have inquired about the condition of the dogs. Even those who do not have any plan of adopting the puppies have reportedly been concerned about their welfare and have been asking for updates on the pets.

The agency director has revealed that the time spent by the remaining puppy in his home has resulted in making him more attached to the dog than ever; that is why he has become more selective when it comes to deciding who the new owner of the dog will be. He has named the puppy Hope.

Hope is a mix of lab-pitbull which, according to Dorman, might be part of the reason why they are finding it difficult to find someone to adopt the dog. However, Dorman has stated that Hope does not fit the usual negative perception that people have about pitbulls. He stated that those interested in adopting abandoned pets will like Hope because she is friendly and well-behaved.
