Eden Man Rescue Dogs for Adoption

Posted by wsummers

A man who was then in a roofing job in one of the subdivisions in Eden, Texas was able to rescue dogs for adoption after the animals were left on a roadway by another man who was reportedly driving a truck. The dogs include a female terrier and five puppies.

According to Scott Ward, the dogs were left on a roadway while the day is sizzling with high temperature. The man who left them has not been found and could face some legal troubles for not even bothering to take the pets to a shelter for dogs. The pets were reportedly trapped in a cage and left on their own by the side of the road.

According to officials from the local Animal Care Services, abandoned animals have grown in number in the area as more properties fall under foreclosure list and homeowners find themselves with nowhere to go and no way to care for their pets. However, in the case of the terrier and her puppies, authorities are not sure whether foreclosure is the reason or whether the man who abandoned the pets just does not want them anymore.

Ward recounted going to the first house he saw after he picked up the dogs. He then met Ken Rust at the first home he came into who agreed to rescue dogs for adoption. That is, Rust will keep the puppies and their mother until someone can take them in permanently and adopt them.

Warn recounted seeing a man got out of a truck and leave the cage by the road. When he came to inspect what the package was, he found out that it was a cage containing the puppies and the female terrier. That was when he knocked on Rust's door, with the latter deciding to find a bigger cage for the dogs after providing them with food and water.

Local animal rescue officials have stated that abandoning animals can carry with it a penalty, depending on whether it can be considered a felony or a misdemeanor. So far, the driver of the truck has not been found. Officials are currently calling on people who wish to rescue dogs for adoption to get in touch with them if they were interested in taking in the dogs.
