People Looking to Adopt Pets Are in Luck, Says Glendale Humane Society

Officials from the Glendale Humane Society have reported that people who wish to adopt pets are in luck, since the three dogs found by the society in a foreclosed dwelling in July have yet to find permanent homes. Officials have also reported that the dogs are in great health after being left on their own for several weeks at a Delisle Court house.

According to Society coordinators, the dogs were victims of the growing problem of foreclosures and distressed homes for sale in the area. They revealed that two of the canines have garnered interests from potential adoptive families, but the third dog, a spaniel mix, still needs to undergo behavioral training before adoption can push through.

Members of the society have revealed that the dogs were found in one of the foreclosure houses at North Verdugo Road. There were signs that someone leaves food and water for the dogs until the society rescued the pets from the hillside home, which was situated in an area known for lion sightings.

After the rescue, the dogs have stayed at the society and members have been trying to find people who adopt pets willing to give the dogs permanent homes. The former home of the three dogs were reportedly under foreclosure, with its owners fighting to keep the residence until June, but lost the battle when the home ended up getting foreclosed in August. Representatives from the realty company who were tasked to secure the property found the dogs and they got in touch with the nonprofit organization, No Paws Left Behind Inc.

The organization then found some available space for the three dogs at the Glendale Humane Society. The canines have their own cages, according to society members, and their vaccinations are up to date. The society is a no-kill shelter, so the dogs shall remain in the society's custody until someone comes along who will adopt them.

Right now, Glendale Humane Society officials are encouraging people who adopt pets and households that have room to accommodate a pet to take a look at the three dogs and see if they are willing to provide these pets permanent homes.
